HD Brows - Full, Salon Styleee!

I've been wanting HD Brows for a while. Not just the little set that every girl and her beauty box has, I mean the full, 7-step, salon experience. You're meant to grow your brows out to get the most from your experience, so I did that before Christmas and then couldn't get an appointment anywhere so had to just get them threaded! This time, I made sure I booked my appointment well in advance.

The HD Process involves the following steps:
1. Preparation & Assessment (kind of like a consultation)
2. Tinting
3. Waxing
4. Trimming
5. Threading
6. Tweezing
7. Finish (tonic applied, brows shaded/pencilled if required)

You can find out more, and watch some videos, on the website here. It normally costs about £25-35, but because I am skinto I managed to get it on a Groupon for a tenner. Bargain.

Here are my eyebrows before:
Please remember I was growing them in for this!!
Aargh. My problem is not only are my eyebrows a horrible shape, they don't match, and they're also too blonde. I wasn't exactly wanting a Scousebrow but I wanted them to define my face and right now they just get kinda lost there!

It took about half an hour, which went by quickly considering the different procedures. The girl asked how dark I wanted, I said a few shades. Her idea and my idea of a few shades are very different. My brows are BLACK haha.

And full face (both 'after' photos obv):

What do you think?? I'm a bit scared of how dark they are, but I'm happy. It'll take a while for me to get used to them, that's for sure! The beautician explained that it can take a few sessions before the eyebrows really take shape, but I don't know if I can afford to keep this up. We'll see.

I'm also not sure whether I technically had 'HD Brows' as she didn't do the waxing step, but did everything else. However, I'm pretty sure asking for a brow shape/tidy and tint would give you a really similar result but for a fraction of the cost, I don't know if I really need tweezing/threading/trimming/waxing every time!

Have any of you had HD Brows done? What is your preferred method of brow maintenance? Do you think HD Brows are worth the money?
Let me know!

  1. I think they look wonderful after the change. Having defined eyebrows is much more glamourous and yours don't look too dark at all.

Not bad for a groupon offer!

  3. They look really nice hun :) I started getting mine done, but my brows grow really fast and I need them doing every two weeks. Now I have the shape I'm just going to maintain them myself for a while, £50 a month for eyebrows is too much! lol xoxo

  6. Lauren, your eyebrows look fan-bloody-tastic! They're not too dark, they really suit you. I may need to join Groupon, heard great things about it. Such a bargain that you got them done for a tenner!

I told my friend who runs a salon about HD Brows and she's now doing a course so she can do them in her shop. Loving the new craze!

    Great post!

  9. They look fab Lauren. I'm lucky in some ways because I have really dark brows, but it means I really have to keep them in tip top shape because strays are soo obvious! Hope you enjoyed York by the way! Fiona x

  11. I think these look great, not too dark at all. I wish my eyebrows where lighter I seemed to have the dark bushy mono brow brow, not a good look.

I'm always so jealous of people finding all these bargains on groupon I just keep forgetting about them :( xx

  15. They look fab! I've been reading about friends wanting to get this done but really wasn't sure what HD brows where but now I can tell why they want them! I don't think they are too dark either, just right!

    1. There are different shades you can choose from, however they then seem to use some artistic license haha! Yeah, they're a 'craze' more than anything I think; they look good but a tint and shape would probs give the same result tbh. =p

  16. I don't think they are too dark, they really suit your face and complexion. I love your review on this, as its actually explained the steps, as before I had always wondered what HD brows actually entailed. Thanks for sharing :D
