I'm doing Celebrity Slim Diet!

A bit of a different post today. Not beauty related, more of a personal post. I'm wanting to lose a bit of weight before summer (aren't we all??) but doing it the 'natural' way is just not happening for me. Before Christmas when I wasn't working at all, I went to the gym seven times a week for a month and did not lose a pound. Now, I know it's all about inches and all, but I didn't feel any trimmer!

I don't eat like a glutton, but I do love snacking. I eat at least one packet of crisps a day - oops! - and probably drink more alcohol than I should. But I still thought it was really unfair that I lost NOTHING. So now I'm stepping it up a notch! I'm going to try...

Celebrity Slim! I've done a bit of research and people seem to be getting good results with this. You basically replace breakfast with a shake, then have a mid-morning (allowable) snack like fruit, then for lunch it's either a shake, a soup or a snack bar, then another (allowable) snack, then a balanced dinner and then another wee snack!

Here's what's in the starter pack I bought:

And there's loads of flavours and stuff you can buy indivudually/in other packs.

It all sounds like I could manage that fairly easily. Except: NO CARBS!! Well, for the first week. And I LIVE on pasta. But I'm gonna give this a shot. I'm not gonna tell you my weight, but if you're interested I'll provide little updates of how I'm getting on.

Also! Some people are saying that the blog is too wide for their computer screen, can you please comment below if this is the case for you? I'm so confused cause it's fine on my laptop! :(

Are any of you on the quest to lose weight/tone up? How are you going about it? Any meal suggestions for me??
Let me know!

  1. I'd love to lose weight and tone up. Last time I got really fit was running and playing roller derby and I actually went up to a size 12, now I'm not fit and I've kept the extra weight. Just don't have the will power, I have found calorie counting has helped me in past, just stops me snacking and drinking alcohol when I have a set number to meet!xx

    1. I've never been fit haha! I loved going to zumba frequently, but it just did nothing for my fitness-wise. I wish I could get into a sport or something! I go through stages where I count calories, but it never lasts tbh. =/

  2. If you have a smart phone then I'd suggest getting the 'my fitness pal' app.
I have it and keep track of everything I eat, have been doing it for a month and I'm really surprised how easily they can add up even when I'm eating salads and cereals and absolutely no chocolate or crisps or alcohol!

But I'm in the swing of it now and have been going to the gym religiously!

Carbs are soooo good :( *dreams*

  4. Well done. Hope it goes well for you. I have lost a little bit of weight (not much mind) by just cutting out alcohol and trying to limit the amount of chocolate I eat! You seem determined so I'm sure you will succeed. xx

    1. Uuuugh, I try to cut out alocohol but it (shockingly) is one of my biggest weaknesses! I've cut out cider, so that's a start! =p

    1. It didn't really tbh! Some days I felt a little tighter, but it wouldn't last! I think I'm gonna find it hard but hopefully can stick at it!

  6. Oh good luck! I've never tried anything like this, but I do follow Scottish Slimmers to maintain my weight/lose pounds when I need to - it's great cause you can pretty much eat what you want, just a little less of everything. I love the gym too, but your right - it can be hard to lose weight from just exercising x

    1. I think I'll end up doing something like that, everything in moderation, once I reach a bit nearer my target weight! I was gutted that I didn't lose weight through exercising. :(

  7. Well done hun! Hope this works, I have been doing the same thing (not the celebrity slim but the losing weight for summer bit). I am going to Las Vegas in August and want to look good! I have lost a fair bit of weight and the one fail safe way I have had for burning fat is skipping (with a skipping rope obv lol) I really have noticed a HUGE difference since I started, I do about 250 a day :) xx

    1. I did some skipping at Thai Boxing but I actually found it really hard?? I think the rope was too long cause it kept catching on my arms and toes and hurting lol! =p

    1. I think their really similar, but with some Cambridge plans you have three shakes a day! Whereas with Celebrity Slim you have a normal meal and can swap the shakes with soups or cereal bars! ^_^
