I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with my eyebrows. For the first few days after I have them 'done' it's love, the other 90% of the time it's hate. They are blonde and shapeless and grow in far too quickly. UGH.
You can catch up on my exciting adventures with my eyebrows from these posts:
HERE to read about (and see a wee video of) the torture that is threading; and
HERE to read about my salon HD Brows experience with before/after pics.
But to summarise, my eyebrows, left untamed and undyed, look like this:
AAAARGH!
Once threaded, they look like this:
Not too bad.
Once HD-ified, they look like this:
That's better!!
The only problem is, the tint fades so quickly and my eyebrows grow in so fast that ideally I would have them re-done every two weeks, but I clearly can't afford that. So I invested in a 'brow tidying/shaping' kit.
Ta da - Christian Semi Permanent Eyebrows in 'Taupe' (comes in other shades)
It comes with instructions, your chosen shade of wax, a double ended brush for precision or shading, and three stencils for your eyebrow shape - thin, natural and thick.
The idea is that you position the stencil over your eyebrow and shade in with the wax, which enhances your natural shape and tidies it up. I got blonde because I use this kit. once the tint fades and my eyebrows start to become unruly.
My current eyebrows without using Christian Brows:
And after using it:
The left brow has been shaded in completely using the foam end of the brush , the right brow has had 'strokes' of wax applied using the angled end of the brush.
What do you think? I like that it makes my eyebrows look a little neater, especially when I just shade them in like the brow on the left, and helps me prolong HD Brow sessions! The kit is not cheap, I got mine for £18.50 at FeelUnique, but it's probably gonna last me about five years and the wax really stays put until you remove it with makeup remover - it even stays on in the shower!
Do any of you guys have any eyebrow tips for me to keep these bushes under control? Have you tried a different brow kit? And also, have any of you tried dying your eyebrows at home??
Let me know!
~ Lauren ♥
It looks really good and cheaper than having to keep going to get hd brows done!

That's the thing, it was expensive to buy outright but one HD sesh is like £30 anyways!!

Your eyebrows look great, I use the sleek brow kit, its ok but I tend to just use a pencil to fill in my brows. I tried the Eylure Eyebrow tint kit in black to darken my eyebrows which it did but again I ended up going back to my eye pencils because there much cheaper and I don't have an issue with them not lasting. They have the Eylure Eyebrow kit in brown, you might want to try that.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think I might need to invest in a home dye kit because the tint just fades sooo fast on my blonde eyebrows! They're still darker just now than originally, but I only had them done three weeks ago. :(

The kit looks good and a good way to tidy in between. Though I've got dark hair, I have really fine, sparsh eyebrows. I dye them myself at home and fill them with a pencil or powder for more definition. If the tint fading is your biggest worry try dying them yourself at home - it costs a few quid for the tint and oxidiser and the tube lasts ages! xx
ReplyDeleteI think I might have to do that - it seems a lot cheaper than constantly getting them tinted! I hate having such pale brows lol. Mine are such a rubbish shape, that's good you can just fill yours in a wee bit. :)

ooh it looks really nice tidied up a bit with the little kit! It looks like the perfect colour for you. HD brows are definitely wayy to expensive to maintain on a really regular basis I think!
ReplyDeleteI just dyed my light brown eyebrows last week using Eyelure Dylash 45 day Mascara eyelash and brow dye kit (you can buy this pretty much anywhere). It is soo simple to prepare and only takes two minutes, and you get enough in the pack for like 12 applications. You can also gage how dark you want them to go yourself which is great. It's been around ten days and my brows are still nice and dark but I'm sure it will fade shortly. I think this would be really great for you as an in-between HD brow sessions thing, especially for around £5. Plus its so much easier in the mornings when you don't 'need' to fill in your brows! Xx
I love this idea, thanks Gill! I think I will defo go for the Eyelure kit then, I didn't know you could reuse it for several applications! Thanks for the tip! :)
